It is important cleaning operative is trained in chemical awareness and understand any risks involved in the use of cleaning chemicals.

Control of Substance Hazardous to Health (C.O.S.H.H)
  1. Select a suitable product for the task to be undertaken.
  2. Must read Safety Data Sheet prior to use.
  3. Ensure any personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.
  4. Dilute chemicals as directed by the label. Add chemical to water.
  5. Correctly label all spray bottles. Do not use unlabelled containers.
  6. Never mix chemicals as this may produce a toxic gas.
  7. Ventilate areas and place warning signs when using chemicals.
  8. Clean up any spillages immediately.
  9. Dispose of ant unused or soiled solution as directed by the Safety Data Sheet.
  10. Rinse and neutralise cleaning equipment after use.
  11. When not in use ensure chemicals are stored safely and securely.
  12. Keep chemicals out of the reach of children at all times.
